A question we all need to face:
How prepared am I to survive and recover from the next Cascadia Subduction Zone earthquake? What if we’re on the road, at school, at work, or at the beach when it hits? What about my family, friends and coworkers?
We know that the next quake could hit at any moment. It could be the most devastating natural disaster ever to befall North America. That’s the bad news.
But there’s also good news: being properly prepared can dramatically improve our chances of personal survival, as well as of restoring our economy and living conditions to where we want them to be.
Cascadia Prepared’s mission is to help make the good news a reality.
We are a nonprofit organization aiming to recruit thousands of members from Northern California, through Oregon and Washington, all the way to British Columbia – the entire reach of the Cascadia Subduction Zone – to help us all survive and thrive. Before, during and after the coming quake.
With the help of our members and sponsors, we provide direct assistance to homeowners, renters and managers of residential facilities in improving their resilience.
We help emergency managers at the local, state and regional level to develop programs that work.
We work with appointed and elected state officials to develop policies that will increase resilience across the entire Cascadia Region.
